How to Spot Fake Chanel Sunglasses – 5 Simple Steps

In an ever changing fashion world, where people crave more about flaunting a unique style, designer sunglasses have become the much preferred accessory to flaunt the ultimate glamorous look. But due to the high price tags associated with them, there is a huge market for replica or knockoff models of the original brands. Selling replicas is in fact quite legal if the customer has full knowledge of the product he or she is going to buy. But, there are many unscrupulous dealers who pass off these fakes as originals to the unsuspecting customer. A good example in that case would be Chanel sunglasses- one of the most expensive brands in designer shades. If you’re purchasing your Chanel glasses from an online store and not directly from an authorized Chanel dealer, here are 5 simple steps that will help you avoid buying a fake pair:

Step 1- Product cost

Consider the cost of the Chanel sunglasses that are being sold. A pair from this brand costs anything between $200 to $400. If they are being sold at less than the minimum price then the authenticity is highly doubtful.

Step 2- Analyze the quality

Take a good look at the sunglasses, feel the texture and quality. Chanel sunglasses are luxury items and of the highest quality possible. If you are not convinced of the quality at the first look or the frames appear to be the brittle type then they undeniably fake.

Step 3- Thorough Inspection

Look carefully at the brand logo on the lenses. You will see 2 interlocking C’s with their backs to each other. The logo has to be of just the right size, neither too big nor too small. And if it is dull in color or jagged in shape then they are surely knockoffs. Also, check for the serial number with 2 letters and 7 digits on the outside of the left lens. Again, look at the insides of the arms. You will see numbers that specify the model number, arm length, bridge size and color code of the sunglasses. On one of the arms, the words ‘Made in Italy’ will be embossed. And yes, the brand name should be printed in small case on the top of both the lenses. All these steps are extremely important to verify the authenticity of your shades.

Step 4- Associated accessories

Original Chanel sunglasses always come with associated accessories like a cleaning kit and branded case. If you don’t receive these along with your purchase, demand a refund.

Step 5- Ask for authenticity certificate

All Chanel sunglasses come with a certificate of authenticity and warranty booklet. If the seller tries to sweet talk his way out of providing them, then beware, he is one of those shady dealers that everyone warns about.
