Sex, Space, the Moon and Volcanic Eruptions

The Moon and Women

The debate around the comparison or rather the connection between the moon and women is far from over. Still the subject can be made very interesting. Here are some facts:

Lunar Cycle and Menstruation

On average the menstrual cycle of a woman is exactly the same as the Lunar month which is 29.5 days. Studies show there are more births during full and new Moon. The stronger gravitational pull seems to have an effect. Another interesting fact is that more boys are born after the full Moon and more girls after the new Moon. Can it be the pull on the embryonic water as the Native America Indians believe? Though there is no scientific proof of many of the theories connected with the Moon it is very interesting.

On The Space Station

NASA is still silent as far as experiments are concerned regarding sex in space. Though the possibility was the greatest when a husband and wife team was in space together, that was not on the official work program. Then again, it is not work per say. Did they do it and was it different? NASA is not saying. One could say that it would be slightly different. You would need to cling to each other and where it is optional on Earth, in space it would be essential. After the act a man could simply float away, instead of rolling over.

Volcanic Eruptions and the Moon

The arguments how the Moon effect our lives are not always clear but the more bizarre it sounds the more it can be true. Astronomers studying the Moon and volcanoes began to see a pattern. It appeared that the effect of the Moon on volcanoes is greater than we thought. Volcanoes erupt any time but when studied it was found that they tend to erupt more when the Moon is full and during the New Moon. This was proven to a point that eruptions could be predicted to within minutes. More research showed that major eruptions in history all coincided with the phases of the Moon.

Whether the Moon has an effect on Women in general we do not know for sure, but we do know volcanic eruptions follow the cycle of the Moon.
